A bit of background

Glynwoods and Plint is led by Robert Glynwoods.

Rob is from a construction background and after leaving school worked for a number of years in general building in Somerset.  In 1986 he started the stonemasonry and carving course at Weymouth College while training with Architectural Sculptors Ltd of London, who he continued to work for after completing the course.  The work was varied but always highly skilled – including carving and repairs on City churches and Rochester Cathedral, the repair of London statues and fountains, and letter-cutting.

For two years Rob worked in Australia where he worked on both new and historic buildings, notably carving a new coat of arms for the government building in Hobart.   On returning to England in 1991, Rob worked as a stonemason, carver and site manager based in Dorset and Somerset before establishing Glynwoods & Plint with Andy Plint (now taking a backseat) in 1998.
